We are living under tremendous levels of stress. When this stress is coupled with the fear factor arising out of events like a pandemic disease, it’s translated into anxiety which further causes impulsive & disorganized behavior- also called Panic. Panic is experienced suddenly out of the blue as if someone has pushed the button and it’s switched on- I call it The Panic Button. The panic is infectious, it infects people faster than the pandemic disease. You might be able to avoid the COVID-19 virus, but it’s difficult to avoid the panic. And everyone has got a Panic Button-Even you.

THE RAMPANT STEREOTYPES
There is a famous phrase that “Your reputation precedes you” but what if I tell you that something even precedes your reputation. It doesn’t matter which part of the world you belong to, there are always some preconceived notions that reach the people before you do. These can be associated with anything like your country, community, religion, skin colour, ethnicity, profession or language. These are the Rampant Stereotypes, that exist and continue to grow in our society.
THE DANGLING CARROT
We make many big and small choices on regular basis in our professional and personal life. Like volunteering for an additional responsibility in the job or choosing a store for purchasing monthly grocery for home. Although these choices are made by us but there are ways by which these choices can be influenced by others. The one motivational factor that has strong impact on our decision making is a Dangling Carrot.
THE EMOTIONAL CONTAGION
Have you ever felt thirsty when you see someone drinking water or ever felt like yawning when others yawn; or even laugh when others start laughing. The phenomenon is known as Emotional contagion. There are various mechanisms through which the Emotional Contagion occurs. One of the biggest carriers of this contagion today is Social Media.
